【RUN CYCLE SQUARE】Saturday, February 28, 2026: Running Shoes Buyback

Program Summary:

A new start for a pair that has finished its run.
Do you have running shoes you no longer wear, even though they are still usable?
We will set up a “Shoes Buyback Counter” at the venue.  Advance booking is required.  (No on-site registration.)
Expert staff will carefully check each pair and provide a fair appraisal based on its condition.  

Your shoes will move to the next phase in their life cycle, as they are passed on to a new owner.  

Don’t throw them away—pass them on.  Step into action starting with your pair of shoes.
*Please note not all shoes may be accepted after appraisal.

Date & Time:

Saturday, February 28, 2026: 10:00–14:30 / 15:30–17:30

*Time slots in 30-minute increments. 

Venue:

Tokyo Big Sight (Tokyo International Exhibition Center) South Exhibition Hall 2F, Conference Rooms A & B

[Behind the South Exhibition Hall Information Counter, turn left and proceed towards Lawson, a convenience store.  

Please stop by on your way back from the Tokyo Marathon EXPO.]

Eligibility:

Residents of Japan aged 18 or older (identification documents required)
*Please check “Important Notice” below.

Capacity:

1 person per slot (up to 5 pairs of running shoes)
*Should the number of applicants exceed capacity, a lottery will be held.  Winners will be notified by email around February 20th.

How to Participate:

Free of charge / advance booking required (should the number of applicants exceed capacity, a lottery will be held / no on-site registration)

Participation Perks:

Exclusive!  The Running Shoes Buyback participants will be invited to the Tokyo Marathon spectator stand near the finish line.
Details will be provided at the end of the workshop.

Important Notice:

・Please bring your identification document on event day.
・Presentation of an identification document is required at reception.

1.Conditions for Buyback:

・Resident of Japan
・Age 18 or older
・Has identification document

Acceptable Identification Document:

See the list below.  Please present one of the following:
・Driver’s license
・Certification of driving history
・Individual Number Card (My Number Card)
・Japanese passport
・Student ID (must include name, photo, and date of birth; vocational, national, public or private school)
・Health insurance eligibility certificate
・Residence card
・Special Permanent Resident Certificate
・Pension handbook (National Pension, Employees’ Pension)
・Special Child Dependent Allowance Recipient Certificate (Child Dependent Allowance Certificate)
・Various welfare handbooks (Maternal and Child Health Handbook, Physical Disability Certificate, Mental Disability Certificate, Medical Rehabilitation Handbook, Wounded and Sick Retired Soldiers Handbook)
・Other photo ID issued by a government office
(Examples) Small Boat Operator License, Real Estate Transaction Agent Certificate, Certified Electrical Worker Certificate, Electrician License, Instructor Qualification Certificate, etc.

2.Items NOT Accepted:

The following items will not be accepted or appraised
・Items deemed to be stolen, counterfeit, or imitation goods
・Damaged items (holes/tears)
・Items with mold, discoloring and/or strong smell
・Damaged inner lining
・Heavily worn out soles
・Old, misshapen shoes
