【RUN CYCLE SQUARE】Let’s Make Recycled Sandals / SHOES TO SANDALS

Program Summary:

Experience the excitement of breathing new life into waste materials - make your very own recycled sandals!
At this workshop, you can recycle soles of unsellable shoes and used tires into original Tokyo Marathon sandals.
While learning how the waste materials can be transformed, you will get to put a finishing touch to the sandals, such as lacing.  You can then take home the finished sandals.
Enjoy sustainable craftsmanship that combines environmental consciousness and practicality.

Venue:

Tokyo Big Sight (Tokyo International Exhibition Center) South Exhibition Hall 2F, Conference Rooms A & B

(Behind the South Exhibition Hall Information Counter, turn left and proceed towards Lawson, a convenience store.)

Eligibility:

Having a foot size that fits the available sandal sizes detailed below (S/M/L)

Capacity:

24 participants per session
*Should the number of applicants exceed capacity, a lottery will be held.  Winners will be notified by email around February 20th.

How to Participate:

Advance booking required (should the number of applicants exceed capacity, a lottery will be held / on-site registration accepted if space is available)

Fee:

JPY 3,000 (tax included) as material fee

Important Notice:

Please wear comfortable clothing (avoid short or tight skirts).
Please be advised that due to the nature of the program, there is a strict no late arrival/early departure policy.

Recycled Sandal Sizes:

S:  24.3 cm (fits 22–24 cm)
M:  26.4 cm (fits 24–26 cm)
L:  28.2 cm (fits 26–28 cm)

Important: Cancellation / Refund Policy:

・Advance payment of the participation fee (material fee) is required at the time of booking.
・No refunds for cancellation after payment.
・No refunds in the event of a no-show.

Participation Perks:

Exclusive!  Shoes to Sandals workshop participants are invited to the Tokyo Marathon spectator stand near the finish line!
